Centennial Windows

Cleaning windows was never so easy

Cleaning windows has to be one of the least popular spring or fall pastimes. But did you know that it’s also the number one reason why some homeowners choose to replace their old, tired, stained and impossible to clean windows? This helps to explain why Centennial’s "tilt-in" windows have become so popular in recent years. Never before has it been so easy to clean the outside of your windows from the relative safety and comfort of the inside of your home. Even our Casement windows (the crank out styles) are designed so that in all but the smallest windows, the glass can be cleaned from the inside. But let's face it, it's our Double Hung and Side Slider window styles, where both sashes swing easily to the inside of the home, that are the windows that can make the most difference to the way you clean your windows.

“Windows are the eyes to the soul of your home.”

With Centennial’s famous easy cleaning windows, never again will you have to worry about unsafely climbing ladders, no more buckets, no more storms to take off and on and no more sticky tapes or plastic to keep out the drafts. Instead, by following some very simple instructions, you can help your Centennial windows to look as clean and clear as the day we installed them.

Although clean windows provide you the clearest view to your property and neighbourhood, cleaning is also a very important part of the ongoing maintenance of your Centennial custom replacement windows. In fact, cleaning often has a dramatic effect on the performance of your windows, and in some cases can also affect the validity of your warranty.

Of course, the glass is the first part of the window we look at and often the only part we clean. For this we suggest any of the popular glass cleaners like Windex or simply a soap and water wash followed by a vinegar and water rinse.

We suggest that after you open the window, following the proper and safe instructions, you first clean the outside pane of the window with horizontal (side-to-side) wipes. Then after properly closing and securing the window, you clean the inside panes of the glass using vertical (up-and-down) strokes. Using this method will help you to determine which side of the window you may have left streaks, so that you can re-follow the same instructions and clean only the spots you missed.

We have designed all of our windows to be as easy to clean and maintenance free as we possibly can, so that you can enjoy the finer things in life with all of the time you’ll save.
