Why don't we ask for a deposit for custom made products?
After more than a quarter of a century serving the people of Ontario, we've heard plenty of nightmare renovation stories where contractors wanted as much as 50% deposit before the work ever started. Of course, once he has his "profit" (your money!) in his pocket, there is very little you can do when the contractor shows up for a day and then disappears! Our experience tells us that if a contractor needs your money before he can order your new windows, it's not a good indication of either his confidence in doing the job properly or his financial stability. And if that's the case, he may have a much bigger problem providing free warranty service later!
So yes, we understand that making a decision on who is going to renovate your home is not easy. At Centennial we believe that by offering us the opportunity to work on your home, you are placing a great deal of trust in us. We don't believe we should ask for a deposit on top of that trust!
